Hello- Class- Here are my thoughts on the practice of Collaboration. References are at the end of the video.

  1. Crawford,

I thought the peer review was an excellent exercise. Besides the constructivist principles you mentioned, it gave students the opportunity to see their assignments with the eyes of an instructor. That makes it much less stressful when preparing to submit our final projects.

It seems as if your video either cut you off at 2:29 or you later edited it to end it at that point (when you were discussing scaffolding). What I can draw from the zone of proximal development, as far as you mentioned, is that some groups or individual students may have less knowledge than others. When that's the case, instructors may have to focus more attention on those learners. It also empowers the groups with greater awareness and slightly higher achievement levels because they are afforded some independence.

I'd like to know what kind of recommendations you have for instructors to coach or shift the directions of groups. Great post this week!

It's been a pleasure working with you, Lakeisha, and Melanie this semester, and I wish you all the best!

    Respectfully,
    John Bolsch
